Hi everyone, I’m so excited to begin this new journey as a photographer. Thanks for stopping by and checking out my website.
I have been teaching myself how to shoot in manual with a DSLR camera for a few years now. I was first inspired by all the delicious and beautiful photos my favorite food bloggers were creating. I decided that I wanted to be able to make photos like that was well. I began baking and mixing up specialty cocktails in my home, just so I could have pretty things to photograph.
Over time and with dissatisfaction due to high levels of stress in my social service work, I decided to pursue my passion- photography. I took a workshop with the talented Joanne from Josephiney Photography and am soon attending a photography retreat hosted by the talented Beth Kirby of Local Milk in the most dreamy of destinations, Santorini. I’m actually headed that way later this week. I hope to blog and share photos during my time there.
Check out my portfolio. It’s just the beginning, and I’m bold enough to say that I impress myself with my talent. My artist’s eye was honed by a particular art teacher in high school who I certainly didn’t always see eye-to-eye with, yet he gave me the gift of discovering and developing the artist within me. To him, I am forever grateful for that. I see it in my work to this very day, and it only gets better with experience.
